Who I Am

Mia(Yue) Xi

Philosopher to UX Designer/PM

Hello, everyone. Thank you for visiting this page. Your interest in me means a lot to me.

My whole history of life, to be more eye-catching, has been from a philosopher to the field of user experience, but I also would love to share more to help you know me!

Believe me, I am a good collaborator and storyteller!

My Hometown with All Starts

We live in a marginalized city.

"

We are not Shanghainese, we are Jinshan-nese

"

No one outside this town understands what this sentence means, but in this nearly forgotten corner of a big city like Shanghai, we all understand our place. We are marginalized. In part, we take pride in ourselves—we have made a life in this vast city that others boast about. Yet, at the same time, we are fully aware of who we are, where we truly live, and how this town continues to decline.

My Background in Philosophy

I left the city to find my life-puzzle.

"

I want to be a philosopher

"

I left my hometwoown in the year of 2015.

I was still the sophomore in the major of Culture Management in Shanghai. No one in the school left school before in its history.

When I made the decision, I had no idea what culture shock I would experience, what challenges I would face, or how language barriers would affect me. These thoughts never crossed my mind before, but after that year, my life changed completely.

I started drinking coffee every day, reading papers, writing my thesis, and spending more time at the library.

However, after the Thesis Oral, I couldn't stop crying. I was lost. I didn't know the meaning of my choice.

I want to be a philosopher because I want to help improve others' understanding of lives.

Why I Came Here

Knowing my core values is challenging but worthwhile.

"

The challenges of life have never been just about change.

"

It's also about making the right decision.

The time I decided to switch from philosophy to other career path, I was hesitate among all the habits I have. I love asian movies, Japanese cartoons, mangas and etc. My growth was largely influenced by them.

But a career is not just a game of finding interests; it's also about understanding and appreciating my core values.

I love solving puzzles and creating collages.

Beauty is another key part.

Beyond philosophy, understanding human psychology helps me deepen my knowledge of human behavior and care for others.

Finding the beauty among different tasks makes me excited.

I am just like everyone else—I love playing video games, watching TikToks, and scrolling through Instagram stories. I may not be different from you, but I strive to be the one who helps others discover their true strengths.

Let me help you discover your value.

I can be your great collaborator.

Thank you

All my friends around me have taught me how to love myself and others, shown me the meaning of true trust, and supported me whenever I lost my way. I truly love you all.

And

My dear Babie, Cuddie.
